Construction of social houses and the Imanta Health Centre goes according to schedule
General partnership “RE&RE un Dārti” is planning to complete the construction of Latvia’s largest social housing complex and health centre in this July. The work was started on 27 June 2013. The facade decoration and external utilities are 80% complete, while the interior and landscaping works are in the second half already. The clients’, SIA “Rīgas pilsētbūvnieks” and the Riga City Council, officials reviewed the progress in the beginning of April and were happy about the quality and meeting deadlines.
The total building area of social houses is 15,030 m2 and houses are completely different from any other similar project in Latvia, because they are built to comfortably accommodate elderly with their specific needs and also to facilitate living conditions of disabled people. According to the project, the 3 buildings will have 5, 6 and 6 stories, including basement, and will feature one-room social apartments as well as communal apartments purpose-built for persons with disabilities. The houses will also host a health centre and social services.
All apartments will be fully decorated while the health centre and social services will be equipped with up-to-date medical facilities and interior matching highest sanitary requirements. The project also involves landscaping of surrounding area, i.e., construction of access and pedestrian roads, parking for 80 cars as well as bicycle stands. The vicinity will also have several green areas for residents and also children’s playgrounds.

- Construction is done by general partnership “RE&RE un Dārti” in accordance with the project developed by SIA “Eja” as contracted by SIA “Rīgas pilsētbūvnieks”.

- The new social residential houses will also host a health centre of Riga municipality operated by SIA “Veselības centrs Imanta”, the Riga Social Services Day Centre and the Riga Social Services Regional Centre.
