Expert"s report: The new SRS building conforms to safety requirements

SIA “Biroju centrs Ezerparks” has received a final report prepared by AS “Inspecta” experts saying that the new administrative complex of the State Revenue Service and the project documentation conforms to safety requirements.

The expert’s report shows that construction design and actual implementation is done in compliance with the Latvian construction standard, which stipulates the requirements for mechanical strength and stability as well as fire safety requirements (LBN 006-00 “Essential Requirements for Structures” sections II and III).

A thorough inspection of the new building was commenced at the beginning of January by AS “Inspecta”, the leading industrial equipment, products and work environment inspection, testing and certification company in the Northern Europe.

In mid-February AS “Inspecta” had prepared an interim report stating that on site implementation of individual solutions and foundation paling is done according to the project and in conformity to the construction standard of the Republic of Latvia. Now SIA “Biroju centrs Ezerparks” has received a positive final report saying that the remaining construction works also conform to safety requirements.

AS “Inspecta” compared live implementation with documentation, used non-shattering methods to identify the concrete strength, tested normative load-bearing capabilities of the ceiling and performed control measurements to determine bearing part deflections and conformity thereof with the construction standard.

A selective technical examination was performed on foundation paling and grid build, reinforced steel frames and bars, prefabricated reinforced steel constructions, metal construction structures and the ceiling, as well as internal equipment and technologies related to fire safety.

Additionally they reviewed operational documentation, i.e., covered operations certificates, material conformity statements and other documents related to tests performed during the construction.

Kaspars Zauls, the Chairman of the Board of SIA “Biroju centrs Ezerparks”, notes that an agreement reached with SIA RE&RE, the general contractor, stipulates that building shall be commissioned on 15 April.

The new administrative complex on Taleju Street 1 will accommodate more than 2500 employees from all divisions of the SRS scattered in 14 different places. It will also host a spacious and comfortable customer service centre. The completion of complex is scheduled for 15 April 2014. Developer is SIA „Biroju centrs Ezerparks”, project design is done by the architect bureau “Sarma & Norde Arhitekti”, general contractor is SIA RE&RE and financing is provided by Nordea Bank.
