RE&RE Construction Objects Awarded at Contest "Building of the Year 2011"

On March 30 Latvian Builders Association (Latvijas Būvnieku asociācija) during its Yearly Meeting awarded the winners of the contest ‘Building of the Year, 2011’. Construction company RE&RE had nominated two of its completed construction objects under categories ‘New Building’ and ‘Restoration’ that received prizes for 2nd and 3rd place accordingly.

Association holds the contest since 1998 already. This year, despite the general reduction of construction volumes, there were 24 nominees under 5 categories – ‘New Building’, ‘Reconstruction Object’, ‘Restoration Object’, ‘Engineering Structure’ and ‘Renovation (Energy Efficiency Maximization)’. Most of the construction objects nominated for the contest have received financial support form European funds, and this factor in some way determines particularities and quality of the objects serving also as stimulus for competition.

For the category ‘New Building’ RE&RE nominated construction object ‘Multi-Storey Residential Building and Retail Centre’ (20 Priedaines Street, Riga), and was awarded the Silver Prize for the 2nd place. ‘Reconstruction of the Cēsis New Castle (Restoration)’ nominated by RE&RE under the category ‘Restoration’ was awarded Bronze Prize for the 3rd place.
