Ribbon-cutting at the new building of Stradiņš Hospital

On 1 June, at 11:00, the opening ceremony of the new building of Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital took place. The construction of the new building is the biggest investment by the state and the hospital in the health infrastructure, ensuring that the residents of Latvian can receive modern, safe and quality treatment and care in line with the highest standards of healthcare.

The Chair of the Board of the hospital, Ilze Kreicberga, congratulated the guests and revealed that in this building each day two hundred patients will receive treatment and care in the clinical departments, more than seven hundred patients will receive consultations at the polyclinic and hundreds of people will receive radiology and laboratory tests. Ilze Kreicberga expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in the process, especially the Ministry of Health which undertook this challenge, all state institutions that have provided monitoring and consultations during the project implementation as well as all the medics who provided their experience and knowledge to create a functionally appropriate and efficient building.

The total funding of the first stage of the new building is EUR 87,435,722  of which EUR 24,076,323 were provided by the European Regional Development Fund. The clinical departments will start the work on the new premises gradually, when all the necessary equipment is received and fitted.
